Background

This Dodge Charger combines authentic late-’60s muscle car character with a carefully executed modern rebuild.
It remained in the current owner’s family since 2020, following twelve years with its previous Swedish owner.
The car is believed to have spent part of its earlier life in Ohio, where it was refinished in the current sea-blue colour.

The comprehensive restoration focused on reliability, usability, and structural soundness while retaining its unmistakable period presence.

Drivetrain & Performance

According to the original fender tag, this Charger left the Hamtramck plant equipped with a 383 ci “B”-engine big block and 727 TorqueFlite transmission.
That drivetrain had long since been replaced, leading to a thoughtful upgrade:

  • Engine: 360 block stroked to 408 ci (≈ 6.8 L), fitted with a mild roller cam, ported Magnum heads, and tuned carburation,  producing well over 400 horsepower.
  • Transmission: 904 automatic chosen for reduced parasitic loss, built to racing standards with a lower first gear to complement the 2.94 rear axle.
  • Performance: Strong off-the-line acceleration with relaxed highway cruising.
  • Reliability: The 904 unit has proven extremely durable over more than a decade of use; the only noted minor imperfection is a slightly inefficient torque converter.

The drivetrain alone would cost over €7,500 to reproduce today.
